Caribbean Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation. It is composed of animal lovers all over North America and the Caribbean. C.A.R.E.'s endeavor to raise funds and provide logistical support and other assistance to various rescue organizations who assist stray and abandoned animal population of the Caribbean Islands is carried on by those with love and passion for animals regardless of borders and boundaries.
C.A.R.E. volunteers pledge to help and support this rescue effort where and when they can. By pooling resources and efforts together, more money can be raised, more dogs can be spayed/neutered, provided necessary veterinary care and find their way into loving homes.
A large number of Potcakes and mixed or purebred dogs are found as strays - hungry, often ill or injured in need of medical care. Sometimes they live in deplorable conditions, completely neglected by their owners due to lack of funds or cultural perceptions of the value of animals. The need is immense and the dedicated volunteers who provide hands-on help need all the support possible.
If you love animals, and Potcakes in particular, please consider becoming a volunteer. The skills we can use are too numerous to list and the most important asset we are looking for is compassion and caring.
